Chickpeas and onion chicken tagine
This tagine dish is very delicious and is also very easy to prepare, here are the ingredients you are going to need:
Ingredients
  • 2 chickens
  • 1 cup of chickpeas (soaked overnight and peeled the next day)
  • 1 kg of sliced onions
  • 1 handful of chopped parsley
  • 200 grams of butter
  • One teaspoon of saffron
  • Salt to taste
  • One teaspoon of pepper
  • 2 large glasses of water
Instructions
  1. Not for the preparation:
    Clean and cut the chicken into pieces put them in a tagine pot over low heat
  2. Add the spices, butter, half the onions, and peeled chickpeas
  3. Cover with water
  4. Cook covered over medium heat then occasionally return the chicken pieces
  5. Add water if necessary during cooking
  6. When the chicken is cooked, remove from heat and add the rest of the onions , parsley, a little salt and a pinch of saffron to the sauce that should be still on fire
  7. Shake the pan to mix these ingredients
  8. When the onions are cooked but a little bit still firm, check the seasoning and remove from heat
  9. Add the chickens to the onions in order to warm them, then once hot, place them on a dish by placing the onions and chickpeas on chicken and serve immediately.
