Fish pastilla

Fish pastilla
This is a very famous pastilla recipe in Morocco, it is very flavorful and spicy as well, and most importantly, you can make it easily and without the hassles of making the traditional chicken pastilla.
Here are the ingredients you need:
Ingredients
  • 500 g pastilla leaves, pastry sheets
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 400g white fish cut into pieces
  • 400 g shrimp
  • 400g squid and octopus
  • 150g chinese vermicelli
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper (to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Teaspoon saffron
  • Teaspoon harissa (you can use hot sauce), to taste
  • 1 preserved lemon, cut into small pieces
  • The juice of one lemon
  • 160g melted butter
  • Tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
  1. Now for the preparation:
    In a skillet, add 1 teaspoon butter, salt, pepper and white fish and cook on both sides for 5 minutes. Then remove
  2. Add 1 teaspoon butter, salt, pepper and the octopus and shrimp and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from pan.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon butter, salt, pepper and squid and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from the pan.
  4. Cook the onions with oil and set aside
  5. Place the noodles in hot water so that they soften. Drain and then cut them into small pieces
  6. In a skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter and half the white fish (reserve the other half for assembly), shrimp (reserve a little for the decoration), octopus, squid, onion, vermicelli, parsley, garlic, spices, harissa, preserved lemon, lemon juice, saffron, and salt
  7. Stir and cook for 15 minutes
  8. Oil a round baking sheet and place 4 sheets of pastilla so they overlap and exceed one third (1/3) around the mold
  9. Brush the sheet with melted butter only on the portion that covers the mold
  10. Then add another sheet of pastilla to the center of the mold and brush with butter again
  11. Add the filling into the pan and place it over the pieces of white fish
  12. Then butter the pastilla sheets overflowing the mold
  13. Brush the edge of the sheets with egg yolks
  14. Fold sheets at the center of the mold one after another
  15. Brush the surface with butter and egg yolk
  16. Add 2 pastilla sheets thereafter, one after the other by folding the remainder of the sheet in the pastilla
  17. Brush again with butter and egg yolk
  18. Bake at 400 F (200 C) for 20 minutes
  19. Garnish with lemon slices and pieces of shrimp
