Honey and tomato chicken tagine
This is probably one of the most exotic tagine dishes you can prepare and enjoy, it takes a little bit of time and efforts in order to get it right, but the result is simply fantastic and very delicious, if you have guests, they will love it.
Here are the ingredients:
Ingredients
  • 2 chickens
  • 5 kg of tomatoes (peeled, deseeded and chopped)
  • 300 grams of butter
  • One teaspoon of pepper
  • One teaspoon of saffron
  • 2 onions, grated
  • Six tablespoons of thick honey
  • One tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 150 grams of almonds
  • One tablespoon of toasted sesame
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Now let’s look at the preparation:
    Put the whole chicken or cut into pieces in a pot
  2. And the tomatoes
  3. Add spices, butter, and onions
  4. Cook, covered, over high heat, while stirring often
  5. When the chicken is cooked, remove from heat and set aside
  6. Keep the pan on the heat and let the sauce reduce until the tomatos are completely evaporated
  7. Let simmer for a few minutes and add the honey and cinnamon
  8. Mix, put the chicken in the pan and let them soak up the sauce while turning them from time to time
  9. Remove from the heat
  10. A few minutes before serving, fry in oil blanched almonds
  11. Arrange the chicken in a warmed serving tagine, place the tomato comfit on top and decorate with almonds and toasted sesame seeds.
