Raisins mrouzia tagine
This is a very sweet tagine that you are certainly going to enjoy tremendously.

Ingredients
- 500 g cubed beef
- 1 onion, cut into strips
- 1 tomato, grated
- One teaspoon of salt
- Half a teaspoon of pepper
- Half a teaspoon of ground ginger
- Half a teaspoon of turmeric
- A pinch of saffron
- Half a teaspoon of ras el hanout
- 2 chopped cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons of canola oil
- 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- 150 g of toasted almonds for garnish (optional)
- 250 ml water
- For the Tfaya (raisins and caramelized onions)
- • 3 tablespoons of canola or vegetable oil
- • 2 onions, sliced
- • Pinch of salt
- • 375 ml water
- • 200 g of raisins (pre-soaked in water for 5 minutes)
- • 3 tablespoon honey
- • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Instructions
- Now for the preparation:
Heat the oil in a cooking tagine and add the onion. Stir over medium heat for a few minutes - Add the tomatoes, spices, meat, garlic and parsley. Stir and add water
- Cook for about one hour on very low heat
- Tfaya: In a small saucepan, pour the oil, add the onions and a pinch of salt
- When the onions have lost their liquid, add the honey and cinnamon.
- Drain the raisins and add them to the pan. Mix well and continue cooking for 15 minutes
- Presentation: Place the meat in the center of a decorated serving tagine and pour the sauce around.
- Place the raisins on top of the meat in the center.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds or toasted almonds
