Sweet couscous with dried fruits
Here in Morocco, many people still use couscous for preparing desserts, but it is not what you think, it simply means that they are going to add a bit of sugar or honey with some dried fruits, this is ideal if you have children, they are going to love it, and this recipe is very nutritious as well.
Here are the ingredients you need:
Ingredients
  • 150g precooked couscous
  • 50g pitted dates
  • 50g raisins
  • 30 g chopped almonds, toasted
  • 2 handfuls of litchis
  • Orange zest
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Now, let’s prepare our sweet couscous with dried fruits:
  2. Fluff and soak the couscous with 150 g of boiling salted water. Melt butter and honey in a nonstick skillet, and then add semolina.
  3. Cool in a deep dish, add chopped dates, raisins (soak them in water for 10 min.), almonds, pitted lychees, grated orange peel and cinnamon.
    And you are done.
